Where Did Tiptoe Come From? ✨

"For as long as I can remember, my mum Patricia sang the Tiptoe song to us every year on the eve of our birthdays. It was (and still is) our most beloved family tradition. My siblings and I always found it rather curious that no one had ever heard of the song, despite its release in the 1950s.

Decades later, I continued the tradition of singing the Tiptoe song with my own family, and when my daughter would sing it to her friends at school, their excitement and pleas to hear it again, inspired me to share the song more widely.

Soon the kids started asking, “What does Tiptoe look like?” which first sparked the idea of bringing him to life. I felt like I had known about Tiptoe forever, but trying to do him justice through drawings and illustrations proved more challenging than I thought.

In 2019 when I was undergoing chemotherapy treatment, the Tiptoe project became my creative outlet. Some days I poured every ounce of energy into it; other times I had to step away for weeks and months at a time. Thankfully, the designers, manufacturers, and suppliers who had joined me on the journey, showed great patience as my project slowly found its feet.

In the years since, countless sketches have been drawn and redrawn, prototypes made and remade, and my hard-earned savings invested into building a character worth trusting: registering trademarks, working with legal teams across overseas markets, joining the Toy Creators Academy, building industry relationships, and travelling to Toy Fairs around Australia and the USA.

Now, after an extended period of learning, refining and re-imaging, we are excited to be launching our new website, children’s book, and a premium plush toy in 2026. Our dream is the joy that Tiptoe brings, will continue to flourish among children and families in Australia, and around the world, for generations to come.” ✨
